Puna...at last

Now in Pune, reality has hit. We are going to become a family of four sometime this week!

Somewhat like a rerun, we've packed our donations, received our CALL and will meet the girl that God has found for us tomorrow at 3:30pm. Scared? you bet. Excited? absolutely. But with this second adoption comes an unexpected confidence that we both feel so deeply in our souls. I think, if she were able to put into words these sorts of abstract feelings, Devi would say she is feeling it too. As the wheels hit the tarmac today, Pat looked at me and said, "I am ready". Without another word, I knew what he meant. For the past six years we've been planning our family and now we are ready to complete it.

Our last stop brought so many questions from interested people from across the world. (We have not yet met another person from the states) Praising us for our plans. Congratulating us for the job well done that they witness in our Devi as she tells our story from a 4 year olds point of view to anyone who will listen. We have not yet entered a taxi, plane or hotel without her telling someone (whether they speak English or not) why we are in India.

At the very bottom of our suitcase, lies the few things we have brought for Treya. Things to wear, play with and cuddle with. They, too have been all over India waiting to fall into the arms of the one they are intended for. We are ready. I hope Treya is too.

Treya, my sugar plum, we are a lot to take in all at once. We love you more than you know. Tonight as our heads hit the pillow, I pray that our meeting is a good one. That you like us...a little. Time will tell. Tomorrow at 3:30. Wow. A new chapter begins.

Hi, Julie! I am thrilled to have found your blog! We are in the adoption process from Pune, and I have been scimming your entries to see which orphanage your sweet babe was in? I can't wait to sit down tonight to read about your journey. We are waiting for our I-800 approval now.
